I took a little trip out to Kayak Point (a park here in Washington) today with every intention of taking some pictures. I (cause it’s a lazy Saturday) took my time getting out there not realizing it was going to cost me $7 to park. Normally, no big deal but today, I planned on being at the actual park for only about a 1/2 hour…yea, not well spent if you ask me! One of the reasons it took me so long to get out there was that I was exploring the area, taking side roads, following them till they ended kinda deal! One of the side roads produced this lovely view.
About the photo, the thing I really like about this are the different types of clouds, you have your big puffy ones waaayyyy in the back and then the “all mixed together nasty looking kinda rain cloud”ย over the water. Thank goodness I am no meteorologist eh?. Okay, the reflections are looking pretty cool too! Enjoy…

Beautiful atmosphere.
Thank you. It seems like I head out shooting by myself way more often than with someone else. That day was one such day and when I was at that beach, there certainly was a great peaceful feeling in the air. ๐
Stunning shot! Very impressive work on your site, David.
I don’t know what else to say but wow, thank you very very much!
Peaceful. Really feeling like to sit here for a while and absorb the calm into me.
…and great photography!

Thank you for the wonderful comment, I can’t wait to head back there when the sky is a wonderful blue…instead of this bleh gray we’ve had. ๐
Do post the blue sky picture. ๐
When the blue skies decide to come my way, I will certainly go back. ๐
Beautiful! I want to sit on the edge with my toes dangling in the water reading a book. So serene. -Alice
Thank you for Alice the comment as well as stopping by, hope you have liked what you have seen! ๐
Very nice. Love the simplicity.
Thank you for stopping by and for the comment, hope to see you around!
Fantastic. I love this composition. I’ve been missing out on a lot ๐
Thank you for the wonderful comment Wes, glad you like it. ๐
Nice, almost monochromatic! I think I would have tried an HDR on this one, or at least process it heavily in monochrome, yes, I go overboard sometimes ๐
Almost indeed! I need to start to remember to take some bracketed shots. Now, if I can only remind myself somehow…
this pictures is so pretty, love the reflections in the smooth water, great b&w. -Kim
Thank you Kim. ๐
Its definately the grey. Look forward to seeing it in color on your next trip maybe?
I will definitely head back there when the skies turn blue! ๐
Seems like another gray day shot.
But I like it, as it seems peaceful and love the infinite depth.
Lol, thanx Sasi. Unfortunately, at this time where I live most days are…gray!! ๐
Great shot David, very calm indeed. I see what Morgan means about it being sad, but it feels more tranquil and peaceful than sad to me. Love it!
Thanx Jim. I can also see what Morgan is talking about but do agree with your thoughts (sorry Morgan). Perhaps it’s the grayness that makes it feel sad…hmmm.
This is stunning. Well worth the $7 parking.
Thank you Terri, can’t wait to head back there with the kids!
What a lovely scene. Its inviting but sad. The color is amazing too. Arent those little treks worth it? Im glad you went!
Thanx Morgan! I love it when I find things like this on my explorations.
I like this one. Very nice! The trees (?) in the middle of the shot catch the eye too.
Thanx Mike. Those are actually pilings from…well, I have no idea what they are left over from to tell you the truth! ๐ Thank you for your comment.
The composition works well here. The color is great and so is the perspective. Love the leading lines. Good thing you took the explorations.
I tend to take explorations a lot of times. It’s nice when I am alone but, can be bothersome do my family (although, I am certain they are used to it by now)! ๐
