Today’s The Daily Shoot’s assignment is: “Find a composition today with a strong line or edge that cuts from one corner of the frame to the other.”
I don’t wear watches but today, before leaving the house I put on my watch as for some reason, I just like wearing it when I go on photo walks. ๐
I took a trip to Bayview Cemetery today in Bellingham but my photo walk was cut short. I was wearing my watch (the only time I wear it is for photo walks) and kept going off that time not realizing I hadn’t used it since day light savings kicked in! Grrrr. Oh well, I know now where Bayview is and have scouted it out, can’t wait to head back!

Well done, David. Great shot. Not wearing a watch is good ๐
Thank you Nigel and I agree, not wearing a watch IS good! ๐
Very nice. Lovely color, texture and DoF. Looking forward to seeing more after you have the chance to return.
I can’t wait to go back, perhaps there is a trip to Bellingham this weekend…
See, the lighting wasn’t too bad at Bayview afterall! Nice job on this one.
Ahhh, that’s what a tripod is for dear! ๐ Thanx.
Nice shot David! Interesting comosition and love the saturated green hues. Yes, I agree; you need to go back to Bayview when more time allows. I know you will find many interesting things to shoot. I Used to walk through there quite often with my dog — I’ve always liked the peace and tranquility of the place. And the headstones are very interesting to read. Then of course if you go up Lakeway Drive a couple of blocks, you will find the beautiful Whatcom Falls Park. Great play ground for the photographer. ๐
You know Emily, I am really amazed at all the photo opportunities in the Bellingham area! I have just started to scratch the surface and am really looking forward to exploring more areas!
The colours in this are amazing ๐
Thank you! ๐
What a great photo… I love how the textures seem to jump off the screen. As if you can reach out and touch it.
Thank you, I just wish I could have spent more time there….sooooon I will get back there!
A beautifully, creepy shot. With all the lichen and moss and runners it’s crawling with ‘heeby-jeeby’ possibilities–perfect for an ‘edge’ shot, and for this daily shoot. Your photos have inspired me to sign up for the daily exercises, and I can’t wait to get tomorrow’s. ๐
Thank you so much Heather, I am glad that I have inspired you to join The Daily Shoot! I love how it’s made me think about each shot I have taken, how to capture the “vision” I have in my head, it’s been great! Hope you enjoy the assignments as much as I have! ๐
