Theme: Shooting at f/1.4
Took this shot while on a hike, a day where I decided to only take one lens and wishing I had brought others…still, it was great to shoot with just one lens all day and I stuck with shooting at f/1.4! Oh well, it was a super fun day as we had a great time hiking (as always)!
…Enjoy

Great photo as usual Dave. I always like to challenge myself by taking only one lens sometimes when I go out. But then I always curse myself too.
I hardly ever shoot @ f1.4, but this series is definitely inspiring me. That first facing car by the rail looks like a classic car and with the grain and shallow DOF, makes it bit dreamlike. I really like the composition but because that car is so different than the SUV, it makes me wonder what a square crop without the SUV would look like. Excellent one, David.
I am really enjoying this f1.4 series. I have a similar bent these days. It can be very satisfying.
Glad you are enjoying the f/1.4 series…if you can believe it, I still have more to post. 🙂 Now, have to decide the next series….hmmmmm
How about a macro series at the Northern State Hospital (is that the correct name)?
Yup, that’s the right name and I love the idea!!
Great work, David. I like this very much.
Thanx Graham, glad you like it!
Deception Pass? I can’t get Charlie to walk out on that bridge, she gets freaked out by heights. 🙂 Actually, her perspective when on the bridge is probably pretty close to this… intently focused on the railing. Nice shot!
You got it Dan, it’s Deception Pass. 🙂 If it makes you feel any better, Amy won’t go on the bridge either (for the same reason)!
Love the perspective on this one. Well done.
Thanx Darcy, greatly appreciated!
To me the DOF is what truly makes this photo shine. Great B&W conversion, too.
Thank you kindly!
