Greetings all…this post will be my 365th post! Am I doing a Project 365? Ha, no! I would have SO epically (is that even a word) failed. I will have to give credit to those who have completed their Project 365, awesome job guys!
About this image. As you can tell, it’s a composite of 6 images I have taken. The frames around the five smaller images were made in CS5. I went over all my images in the archive and picked MANY of the images which struck me in some way and then had to decide on 5 of them. I did tell myself not to include any of my kidlets cause…that would just be unfair to the other images as I would most certainly have included those. 😛
The background image was taken this last Fourth of July, before dusk using an ND8 filter.
Upper Left Image: Smoke Stream >>Click Here<< This was me messing around with incense and some strobes.
Upper Right Image: When Yellow Meets Red >>Click Here<< Where I live, we have a rather famous Tulip Festival, The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. Folks from all 50 states (and of course, the District of Columbia) and approximately 51 different countries visited the festival in 2011. This image is an HDR (3 exposures) of one of the MANY tulip fields.
Middle Image: Wordless Wednesday ~CV-62 >>Click Here<< This is perhaps one of my favs. The USS Independence CV-62 was decommissioned on September 30, 1998 providing just shy of 40 years of service. This is also an HDR shot with 3 exposures. Many thanks to all those who serve.
Lower Left Image: Wordless Wednesday ~11.30.11~ >>Click Here<< Okay, this and CV-62 run neck and neck for my favs! This is a bald eagle flying away from me. For those who don’t know, ANY bird, which is alive and can fly (okay, any bird that can breathe), just down right DISLIKE me (as they will never let me capture them). I was taking a different shot and happen to hear these tweets, I look up…two freaking eagles just sitting there chatting away! After quickly changing my lens, I was able to get a few shots…this being one. I framed it for my sister (12×18 in a 16×20 frame) and let me tell ya, it looked DAMN good!
Lower Right Image: Wordless Wednesday ~08.03.11~ >>Click Here<< Star Wars…nuff said. One of the things I want to do for the next 365 images is to incorporate more of my SW lego dudes into more images.
Well all, I thank you very much for visiting, commenting, linking, subscribing and even emailing me here and there! I look forward to many MANY more images to post for your viewing pleasure (hopefully). Enjoy…

Great composite David. I clicked on the links to the original posts — all fantastic images!
Well done David! I am also not doing a 365 project. I like posting, but the pressure of a daily post would be take the fun out of it. Even so I’ll still be pleased when I hit the 365 milestone. I’m thinking it’s still a way off for me yet. I’m predicting mid April if I keep up the same pace.
365 posts! Congratulations. Those are all great shots, but I really like the eagle with the wings faintly echoed by the bush/tree in the foreground. I like the HDR treatments too, subtle and not heavily processed. Works well for me 🙂
Thank you!! I am really torn which my fav is, sigh. Thank you for the HDR comment, I try not to over process them (not a HUGE fan). Cheers!
Congrats on so many posts 🙂
Thank you Eden, I can’t believe it’s been 365 posts…
Awesome David! Congrats on your 365th post!
Thank you so very much Gracie!
Congratulations! I have started another challenge myself this year, posting once a week. Hopefully I can stick to it…I have themes to go by and quite honestly, I’m not sure how I will do. I feel very restricted. But I look foward to your future posts. LOVE LOVE the eagle one. 🙂
Hi Bonnie! I’ve missed visiting your blog (my bad). Thank you for your comment, I look forward to your themes!
Congrats on the mark. Nice composite. I recall the ship & SW photos–two of my favs (the others are super as well :))
Thank you Brandon! I really really need to start visiting again, man I have fallen so far behind. Sorry bout that!
Great work David, looking forward to your next 365!
Thank you Adrian! Sorry I’ve been REALLY slacking on commenting as well as visiting, hopefully I will do better…
I don’t know if Epically is a word but who cares it’s a great word to match some great photographs 🙂
Thank you SO much, this totally made me smile! 😀
Congratulations, David, on reaching post 365! Looking forward to your next 365 photos. 🙂
Thank you Caryn, I can’t believe I’ve posted 365 images! 😀
“When Yellow Meets Red” is my favorite. The others are awesome as well 🙂
Thank you for stopping by and commenting! I would like to think When Yellow Meets Red isn’t just another Tulip shot…? Hope to see you around again. 😀
