The kids and I took a little drive up Highway 20 to find a hiking trail I was told about that has a great waterfall at the end of it. Well, I think I found the “parking spot” which leads to the trail but we never made it as we were having way too much fun and wanted to keep going!
We ended up going all the way up Highway 20 until the road closes (it’s about 60 to 70 miles from where we started). 🙂 Unfortunately, by the time we got there it was getting dark so I figured we should probably head home! No hiking, but we had a blast which is, after all, the only thing that matters! Enjoy…

This is an excellent scene, what time were you up to catch the mist!?
Thank you for stopping by Anthony as well as for the comment. I was there about a half hour before sundown. I wish I could have stayed for another hour and half but alas, my kids would have killed me!! 😀
Beautiful! lovely clouds, great reflection and nice mist, well composed!!!
Thank you Mike, I was actually standing in the middle of a bridge (thankfully no traffic) to capture this!
Absolutely gorgeous, David. Dreamy feel to the shot.
Thank you very much Mike.
Gorgeous photo, David! I’d say it’s ok you never found the waterfall – you got a good picture here instead!
I think my next trip up Highway 20 will be to find that waterfall. You are more than welcome to join…get ya away from that dreaded math book! 😛
Great photo! And youre right, its the fun that counts!
Thank you Morgan, can’t wait till summer rolls around (very very odd to hear that from me as I hate it when the temp get’s over 60) to head back up there!
Great shot David, amazingly peaceful and calm.
Thank you Jim, I can’t wait to head back there in “warmer” weather!
What a breathtaking sight – I love the fabulous reflection in the lake and that dramatic sky. The mist gives the scene a magical atmosphere – very impressive work.
Thank you so much for the wonderful comments Martina, greatly appreciated! 😀
The entire look is breathtaking! The diagonal lines complementing each other keeps the eyes moving. Spectacular!
Thank you so much for your comment Martina, it really is beautiful there.
Lovely reflection. Looks like a nice place to visit in the spring/summer.
Can’t wait to head up there this summer, I hear they have a boat tour to some dam, can’t wait!
Beautiful shot David. Glad to see you and the kids made the trip. 🙂
Thanx Emily, we still plan on heading up there for the loop sometime this summer right?
great picture, love the reflection. -Kim
Thank you Kim.
I love making that trip. Great shot of the lake.
It was our first time (funny considering how “close” I love). I can’t wait to head back there in the summer. 😀
That is a splendid photograph. would like to see that in the monthly competition!
I am thinking about this and the first smoke stream shot for this months comp! 🙂
Great photograph! I love the reflection in the part of the water that is surrounded by water still frozen. Thanks for sharing,
– Nate
Thank you for stopping by and commenting Nate. It was really an awesome sight to see!
Beautiful spot!
It sure was! Right before this location, you drive down this road with HUGE trees on both sides and then turn a bend (and head down a little hill). Well, the fog (clouds perhaps, it was high up) wasn’t on the straight portion of the road and when you turned the bend this was basically the sight you saw. Very breath taking I must say. 😀
