Again, you are pretty much the master of setting up shots. If only I had your patience. This is really cool!
Awwww, thank you so much Jolene!
David, as always, your creativity never ceases to amaze me. Fantastic shot!
Awww, thank you so much Emily. 😀
Awesome shot David, I love the lighting partially obscured by the smoke at the bottom of the glass.
Thank you Jim! I like that and the whisp of smoke coming off the left. 😀
As always your photo is great! Ive enjoyed your smoke series!
Thank you Morgan, I have some more ideas…involving dry ice (thanx Mike)!
What’s not to like about this photo, it is awesome. I can see it hanging up in a pub somewhere. The smoke in the glass almost looks like liquid. WOW!
Thank you Martina, it does look like liquid doesn’t it (reminds me of the liquid hand soap)! 😀
Ah ghost is in town..LOL.
Nice work David!
Thanx Sasi. Funny thing, that’s the second reference to Ghost in this post so I just had to play “Ghost Town” by The Specials (don’t worry if you, the reader, hasn’t heard of the song). 😀
AAAHHH!! This is amazing!! I want to know too how you managed to create this beauty! And I looove black background. It creates nice contrast.
Great job!
P.S. Missed being around on your blog. 🙂
Hi ya, missed ya around here too! I explained how this was done on an earlier reply. One thing I didn’t mention was that early on, I realized the ruler was not level. How to correct? Easy, I whipped out my iPhone and used my level app! 😀
cool 🙂 This reminds me of old ghost photos 😀
Hehehe, I like your thought process Nigel! 🙂
That’s neat!!! how on earth did you do this one?
Hi Mike, if you can believe it, this shot was easier than the last two! The wine glass was actually upside down and I held two incense sticks under it (filling up the glass till it over flowed) and then shot the image with my remote shutter release. I had wanted to get a little “golden” touch to it which, as it turned out, was the hardest part! I finally figured out that if I taped the glass to a wooden ruler, I would get it! 😀
wowwwwwwww!!
Thank you for the comment as well as stopping by, hope to see you around! 🙂
Nice shot – great detail on the smoke. Have you ever played around with dry ice? You can get some neat visual effects with it.
Thank you Mike. You know, dry ice didn’t even cross my mind…thanx for the awesome idea!!
