Today’s The Daily Shoot’s assignment is: “Make a photograph illustrating a sound that catches your ear today.”
Well, I took a little trip down to the local thrift store to find a music box which I could disassemble for today’s shot and it just happen to play Beethoven’s Bagatelle No. 25 in A minor (which is more commonly known as Für Elise). Now Für Elise always catches my ear and I also get to have my Macro Monday shot…what more can a guy ask for? Enjoy…

Very creative shot and DoF!!!
Thank you very much Gracie.
Great shot David! I’d have assumed it was a typewriter without the explanation though!
Thank you Jim, I am going to have to find an old typewriter now!! 😛
Great shot and story to go with it. As always, very creative!
Thank you Morgan, I’ve always wanted to take a shot of the inside of a music box!
As usual, an excellent shot David, I love the focal area, and it doesn’t hurt that I like Fur Elise as well 🙂
Thank you for the great compliment Mike!
Love the details and repetition on this macro shot.
Thank you Sasi, I love macro shots!!
What more indeed! Great detail and I like it blurs into a creamy bokeh. Nicely done.
Thank you for the comment Sandra, means a lot!
Beautifully illustrated in the macro shot. The repetition of lines and shadows seem to echo the notes. Lovely!
Thank you Martina, I will admit one thing I really like about this image is the steel comb’s shadow!
Oh, wow. First off, what a captivating close-up. I was trying to figure out what it was, but never would have without the explanation. Love the focus and dof–and the silver makes for great lighting and shadow.
Wish I was as much a music connoisseur as you are because I’d love to have a melody to accompany this photo. It’s only as I’m getting older that I truly appreciate classical music. Beautiful work.
Thank you Heather, I was really pleased how this one turned out.
CooL!
Thank you Nigel!
Nice shot. Looks a bit steampunk. I wonder what a long exposure shot would look like as it was playing.
It is a little steampunk isn’t it? I think the long exposure might be a tad tricky since the wind up mechanism is on the bottom and I had to remove it!
