So, today’s Daily Shoot was all about our local weather. For people who know me, I so don’t like the sun! Lucky me, it’s raining today!
I was thinking about what to shoot when the craving for these oh so yummy green beans kept calling my name. I figured why shoot dreary when I can shoot yummy comfort food! The recipe is taken from Kinetix, they have the best recipes and not to mention an awesome healthy living program (yea, if you can believe it, I have lost close to 40lbs!). Now, I have been promising a co-worker that I would eventually photograph these yummy little dudes as well as provide the recipe…so here ya go!
Green Beans with Garlic
Ingredients:
1 pound green beans, trimmed (fresh in my case…yummm)
1 tablespoon minced garlic (2 in my case…love the garlic)
1 tablespoon capers (I omitted)
1 teaspoon thinly sliced red chili pepper (I used crushed red pepper)
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
Salt and ground black pepper
Instructions:
Spray a large heavy skillet (calls for cast iron, I used a non-stick) with non-stick cooking spray and warm the skillet over high heat. Once it’s very hot, add the green beans and stir-fry until the suckers are brown and crispy-tender. Stir in the ingredients (dur..less the green beans of course). I usually keep em in there for another 3-4 more minutes. Start munching!
Enjoy…
Congratulations on your success.. and just to let you know .. this is one of my favorites too! I think the term “crack beans ” has come up before once or twice! 🙂
Keep on cooking!

Thank you Nigel…I know it seems odd to consider Green Beans as comfort food but man, they are SO tasty!! 😀
