The challenge this week over at The Daily Post is focus: “For this challenge, get out there and take a picture demonstrating the concept of focus. Depending on your skill level or type of camera, tinker with the manual settings, use the auto focus feature, or play around with an app.”
Here’s my entry, a fresh fruit and vegetable vendor at Pike Place Market with a very shallow depth of field (f/1.6) which allowed me to isolate the sign and the “fresh crisp red & green leaf lettuce.”
I had a little spare time this morning so decided to include a few other focus entries…in no order or anything…

I like that you chose the lettuce and all it’s textures to focus on instead of the more brightly colored fruits and veggies. Different in a very good way!
Thanks Jessie, really glad you like the image (and my focal point decision)! 😀 Hope to see you around again.

Lovely photo for this challenge. Love how the market recedes out of focus into the background.
Thanks Janaline for the visit and for the comment. If you ever find yourself in Seattle on your travels, send me a message! 😀
Beautiful shot 🙂
Thank you very much Aislynn, glad you like it!

Perfectly done!
Thanks, greatly appreciated! 😀
I shouldn’t have looked at your beautiful shot before breakfast! Now I’m hungry and the market isn’t until Saturday. But I do have some lovely peaches from last Saturday and some raspberries, so I’m off to indulge.

Ohhh, can’t go wrong with yummy peaches (and raspberries)! Thank you for stopping by and commenting, it’s greatly appreciated.
Fantastic focus David, some great texture with the lettuce as well. With so much going on in a market I find it difficult to know where to look and what to focus on. Nice work 🙂 Thanks for stopping by my blog, much appreciated!
Hello Ben, thanks for the wonderful comment…the market sure has a ton going on, I typically shoot with a very shallow depth of field when there to isolate my subject(s). 😀 Hope to see you around again!
Oh, this is too funny! I took my picture of a fish (the one you didn’t particularly like :)) at Pikes Market too!
Ohhhh, hope you enjoyed Pike Place (I love going there…seems like I am there 3 or 4 times a month)! 😀
beautiful shot…
Thank you very much Ryan, glad you stopped by and hope to see you around again!

Thank you very much, glad you like it!
Beautiful photo! What camera are you shooting with?
I got my first DCLR camera some months ago and I’m starting to learn digital photography by myself. That’s why I am always curious to know the little details of the shots that I like 🙂

You are most welcome for the link!
Love this one David – the lettuces look scrumptous and your focus point makes one wonder about all the stalls behind them. Well done!
All yummy food behind it Tina! 😀
This is a great shot! Inspired my thoughts today on my blog, Thanks!!
Thanks for such a cool comment, really glad it inspired you!
