Great mug and great image. Love the shadowing and tones.
It’s my fav that’s for sure! The nice thing about this mug is…it’s BIG!!! 😀
Nice shot David, terrific lighting. I am thinking you must have your coffee really black and thick in a mug like this.
Also, just noticed your camera upgrade in the tag line. Congrats! And, Happy Canada Day, even expats get to celebrate you know.
Yup, I take my coffee with nothing in it! 😀 Hope you had a great Canada Day, thank you for the well wishes. 😀 Oh, and yea, I did upgrade and LOVE this camera!!!
Great shot and thanks, especially, for the detail on how you lit the shot. Good to know!
You are very welcome, I always try to add the strobist (flash) info. 😀 Glad you liked the shot.
¡Me encanta David!, hoy he hecho yo una también con strobist, http://manolirizofotografia.com/2012/06/30/los-calabacines/

Nice shot Manoli, thank you for the comment.
Love the mug (I was going to say “your mug” ) lol, and the whole image! Funny how one word can change the whole meaning of a sentence…
Hahaha, it is funny what one word can do! 😉
That cup is awesome! Nice shot.
You can see why it’s my fav eh? Thank you for the comment Bonnie.
Yes! I love it!
I just laughed and laughed. I simply LOVE the way you’ve used the lighting as part of the composition, how the black and white rings extend outside the cup with the shadows and light. You’re brilliant!
Thank you very much Melanie, glad you liked it!
The lines on the coffee cup are so clean and the fade on the spotlight is so even that this almost looks like a CG image. It’s awesome how you’re able to take ordinary objects and turn them into art. (This is Dan, btw…) :o)
Hey Dan, thank you for the wonderful comment and of course, for stopping by! 😀
