It’s Tulip season in the Skagit Valley, unfortunately the weather has been the typical Pacific Northwest drizzle/rain (during the week, the weekends have been pretty good but man, the fields are a MAD HOUSE with people) so I’ve only been able to make it out to the fields once this year. 😦 I actually had a different picture ready to go when I realized this morning it was Thursday…I can’t miss Texture Thursday! I’ve got a few more flower shots to post…stay tuned!
For the month of April, the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival takes place hosting visitors from 50 states and 51 different countries (according to 2011 data). Typically it’s fields and fields of tulips (and daffodils which bloom shortly before our friend the Tulip), it’s a really cool sight. Of course there are other things to do, art walks/shows, street fairs, the tulip run, the tulip pedal (as in…bike), BBQ’s, wine tasting…the list just keeps going!

Bella, bella, la profundidad de campo esta clavada, saludos
Bella, bella, depth of field is stuck, Greetings
Thank you very much!
I dig the composition of this. The white tulips in the foreground and the red in the back is just perfect.
Thank you, it was an exercise in composition for me to tell you the truth. Was sitting there in the field thinking…how can I get something a little different…
another splendid image, impressive texture and very good depth of field
Thank you Fabrizio!
Hey four layers! 😀
The most beautiful photos I came across today. Great DoF, and tulips are just lovely! Loved them. 🙂
Thank you very much for such a lovely comment Nandini, glad you enjoyed my capture!
This is great – I love the focus across the centre of the photo, which is enhanced with the change in colour to the less focussed reds in the background. Really caught my eye 🙂
Thank you Helen. 😀
beautiful and so nice to see them fill the frame 🙂
Thank you very much Joshi.
Great shot and texture. DOF is spot on and love the layered feel it gives.
Thank you Stevie, I was aiming for the centre to be in focus when I was thinking about the shot. 🙂
It’s beautiful, David! And I agree, loving the DOF.
The texture you added blended beautifully to create a more dramatic image.
Thank you very much Gracie.
Excellent !! I love the stripes and that you have focused on the middle white ones.. great depth of field David.. ( no pun intended !)
🙂 Thank you Helen (I liked the pun)!
