Since I have started playing around with textures lately, I went through my archive of images looking for interesting shots to use. This image prompted me to work (in my spare time…hahahaha) on a flower series using textures and a square (crop) format, hope you enjoy and more to come in the following months for this series!

The square format is one of my favorites. Maybe it is just my bad luck, but have you ever noticed how hard it is to find large square frames? Nice idea with a flower/texture/square series. Great photo, comp and PP. The soft lines on the petals in the background somewhat reminds me of something from O’Keeffe
Very nice. And I like the square format. It can be hard to work with, but I find it constantly calling out to me.
Lovely texture, David. I really must find the time to explore some texture techniques, but oh-so-busy at the moment!
You have done it again david…I feel like I can almost touch the tip and feel its freshness!! 🙂
Great work. The colour and dof are terrific.
Gorgeous… would love it if you would consider putting a little thumbnail of the originals in future posts in this series.. 🙂
Hi Helen, what an interesting idea, I hadn’t even thought of that before. If I remember, I’ll include a smaller version of the original in future posts. 🙂
fascinating and lovely macro
Loved the color, and the DoF too. 🙂 Nice pic!
I like the mauve colour here. 🙂
