As noted in yesterdays rather lengthy post, I did manage to capture some shots of the creek at Northern State Hospital. I decided to give the image a “cold” feel, so converted to B&W then brought in some of the colour. What do you think?
I just love the silky water in this shot, particularly the lower right side where the branch has dipped down. 😀 Enjoy…

Very nice. I like this a lot. You definitely captured the “cold” feeling you were going for.
Thank you Caryn!
I like the dark tones and muted colours.
Thanx Mike, at least there’s NOT another creepy story to go along eh? 😛
It’s a good technique for giving the image a cold feel. The water looks like it’s really icy.
Thank you Mufidah, glad you like!
Lovely image. I really like the low perspective. I like the hint of colour too.
Thank you, I think the low perspective really makes this image (okay, the silky water as well)!
Love this! And I have to agree with everyone else, it does look like the water is frozen. Very “cool” photo. LOL 🙂
Thank you Bonnie, glad you like it. I’ve been wanting to do more long exposure water shots, so perhaps you will see more in the upcoming weeks!
I like this shot a lot – especially the way the water is flowing over rocks, or into holes, in the middle of the photograph.
Thank you, I really like the first “main” hole, it almost seems like the water is being sucked into it!
Love the effects. And i agree to the previous comments, the water does look frozen, in fact it almost looks like “black ice” and has that slippery feeling to it.
Ohh, black ice…how I dislike black ice! Thank you for your comment Gracie. 😀
It works very well David, i agree the water looks almost frozen, nice image!
Thank you for your comment Adrian.
I like that the water, although silky, still has good texture, which I really like. A lot. 🙂 There’s a coldness to the image, but by adding in some color, it adds a different feel/depth to the image, which I think is just great. Really like this one, David.
Thank you Katie. It’s getting colder here that’s for sure, I had to pull out my fingerless gloves for yesterdays walk! I am glad you like this image. 😀
It has a very cold feel. The silky water in a way looks frozen and/or glassy. My favorite aspect is how the water contrast with the texture on the banks. Good one!
Thanx Brandon, I like your observation about the water looking frozen!
