One of the things I usually do when walking around town is practice motion blur by using a slower shutter speed while panning. I’ve seen the term “Shutter Drag” or “Dragging the Shutter” (typically used with a flash) used with the same outcome as this shot. Anyway, I always shoot these without a tripod (yes, it was handheld). Hope you enjoy…

Thanks for dropping by Pam, totally appreciated!! 🙂
This is so cool! I need to put “panning” on my list of things do do/learn. I really love this effect!!
You really do rock at this!
Awesome panning, I’m not sure how a tripod could do a better job. Great image!
Great photography and so is the picture. 🙂
Very nice!
Hi Angelia, thank you for stopping by and commenting! I’ve actually been following your blog for awhile! 🙂
This is pretty neat!
Great shot David! Nice panning. Looks like I need to take some lessons from you. 🙂
Nice job on the pan! Very crisp.
This is a brilliant panning shot – very well done!
Love panning shots. Great one David!
Stunning!
Great shot! Amazing how even hand held the subject is clear but the background is blurred. Nicely done.
