The Daily Shoot assignment for 2011/06/26: “Make a monochrome photograph today. Keep in mind that monochrome doesn’t have to mean black and white.”
There’s this purple abandoned building I visited today, figured it would be good for today’s The Daily Shoot’s assignment. 😀 Enjoy…

A purple abandoned building, you say? I think you should include some more shots of that. This photo in particular is quite interesting. It’s almost ironic, as the chipped paint and concrete do scream “abandonment,” yet, the colour certainly does not.
Awesome textures David. Surely it’s a monochrome shot.
Thank you Sasi.
Nice shot David. This image reminds me of a girlfriend back in my freshman college days. Purple was her favorite color and she painted everything in her dorm room purple, including the door, concrete walls, the inside of her closet and even her dresser was painted purple.
Wow, all purple, that must have been SOME room! Hopefully she left the floor alone. 😛
Excellent subject and color.
Thank you kindly Angelina, I know I was glad we happened to spot this building. 😀
Great shot David, both interesting color and texture!
Jim, thank you for the comment.
Thanks to this building, I made a connection between you and Jolene. Small world! Purple is my favorite color…good thing this building is not close to me. I’d have 300 pics of it 🙂 Great job!
🙂 Yup, Jolene and I have worked together now for over 10 years…10 years, can you believe it? She’s put up with me THAT long…HA (SUCKER)! The building was really cool, I love finding places like this.
Perhaps all abandoned buildings should be purple!
What a fun photo!
Ha, I think they should all be a single colour, that sure would be interesting! 😀
I like how that turned out, David!
Thanx, I like how your self portrait turned out! 😀
